Brakes
Whilst often neglected when tuning a modified car the brakes including brake discs and brake pads are an essential safety component designed to slow your car down as quickly as possible. The braking system fitted to most performance cars consists of the hydraulic fluid, callipers, brake lines, brake pads and discs. Discs are also called rotors in some markets. Stainless steel brake lines and high performance fluid give more pedal feel and maintain performance under hard use.
Replacing the pads with up rated versions is an excellent first stage to improving stopping performance and should be considered essential if you are contemplating fast road use or track days. For the next step discs which are larger diameter and drilled or grooved surfaces all help you to stop by being more efficient than the standard part. For the ultimate stopping solution a full kit which includes all the components you will need to upgrade is available. Our Brakes guide gives further information on this procuct range. |
